On Resurrection
XXXVII. On Resurrection
1. Since God is justice, He is just in judging,
for the reason that He shall desire to resurrect people
so that rightfully He may avail himself of them all.
2. Were resurrection not to obtain,
judgement of the man who commits sins
would not be genuine.
3. God shall resurrect all peoples
so that salvation should befall the good
and damnation the wicked.
4. The good and the wicked shall be resurrected,
so that divine power
may act in a supernatural manner.
5. Since man was created
for the next life, it would constitute a sin
were he not to be resurrected.
6. The person <who is> saved shall be resurrected
at his most perfect age,
and shall be cleansed of all sin.
7. The sinner shall be resurrected
with sadness and pain
and shall be very fearful of God.
8. Whoever is resurrected
for the purpose of being sent to hell,
shall wish that he had never been born.
9. God shall say to the saved,
“Come, O you blessed ones,
to be glorified in Me!” (Mt 25:34)
10. God shall say to the damned,
“You are deprived of me:
proceed to the everlasting fire!” (Mt 25:41)
